Furfuryl Alcohol

Furfuryl alcohol is an organic compound featuring a furan ring substituted with a hydroxymethyl group. While it starts as a colorless liquid, older samples may adopt an amber hue. It emits a subtle scent reminiscent of burning and has a bitter taste. Although it can mix with water, it tends to be unstable in such conditions, yet it readily dissolves in typical organic solvents.
