Epichlorohydrin (ECH)

Epichlorohydrin is a transparent, colorless liquid with a pungent odor reminiscent of chloroform. It has a density of 9.8 lb/gal and a flash point of 87°F. This compound is capable of polymerization, and if such a reaction occurs in a sealed container, it can lead to a dangerous rupture. It irritates both the skin and the respiratory system and is toxic if ingested, being a confirmed carcinogen. Its vapors are denser than air.
